Resolution
Ok...so I'm currently running what I'm guessing is pretty out of date resolution on my monitor. I use 800x600. I've got so many programs that when I go to Start--->All Programs, I don't even see them all. I like the idea of using the 1024x768 resolution setting, but everything looks so fucking small. Is there any way to set up the computer to view 1024x768 so it doesn't look like it's a mile away? It's nice having an LCD monitor...but what's the point if I can't see anything without squinting?

a bigger monitor helps. If its an LCD, you need to run it at its native resolution. It will show up the clearest, and be easiest on your eyes.
Over time, you will adjust to everything being small. 800x600 is the absolute minimum that anybody should run, and is the default resolution that winxp starts with. 1024x768 is what most people are happy with. I personally like 1280x1024. For resolutions much higher than 1024x768, you may have issues. Your video card needs to support it, as well as your monitor. To answer your question, invest in a larger monitor...19" at least. Running at 1024x768 should be less painful then. |
