Hmm, how many of you actually have done the swap or know someone who has and what were your thoughts on it compared to your/his/her stock.

very nice....
but its a huge pain in the a$$.... lots of headaches, trials and errors.... i wouldnt recommend it to someone who doesnt have the time or the money... lots of tuning and troubleshooting.... but when it is put in right... the ride is beyond awesome..... oh and its more than what people who havent gotten it done.. its not just about spending only 3000 on the engine and dropping it in... theres other parts you have to find and making sure that no other stuff goes wrong.... i've experienced it and seen it once too many times..... but the headaches are sooo worth it tho... |

yeah if you do it in a 4th gen accord make sure you get some high performance motor mounts or fill them out with polyurethane. they tend to break with the f22 in them (and only 125 hp)

Ive got a 99 accord sedan dx. (hint: look @ vehicle). Its an F23 not a 22. Thats a 6 gen not a 4th. and ive been to h22a.org many times. Not trying to flame here but those posts had nothing to do with what i was asking for.

azn_nite_ryder didn't answer your questions? Go talk to a shop that does swaps if you want to hear personal experiences.

He did. I was talking about hondaman. Seeing how the most popular engine swap for an accord is an h22 i figured that maybe some1 on these forums has done the swap or knows some1 who has. Probably better responses than calling a shop. |

well i don't think it will go in the 6th gen without some modifications. first of all the 6th gen accord has the intake on the left, and 4th and 4th gens have the intake on the right. prelude has the intake on the right too. i did not get too see the engine bay pretty well on a 6th gen so i know where the tranny is. also i think since the 6th gen is made in US might have the tranny on the left too, which will make it impossible for a h22 swap without some major modifications. let me know where the tranny is at.

the positions of the intake is not the biggest issue.....
you can always custom make a new pipe and add the filter.... |

Well since i have a 99 and id be swapping to a 92-95 h22, its going to be illegal correct?
If so, should this stop me from the swap? |

well to my knowledge.. you cant swap an older engine into a newer car... something to do with emmisions.... altho thers a slim chance that i might be wrong.. but check it out with the bureau to see if its legal in your state/province...... my advise is go with a 99 preludwe engine... it'll be a lot better

You're right, legally you can't swap in an older engine...

hmm. Kinda feels like a pain in the ass to try and find a 99 for just as much as the 92-95's. Even with the swap ill still only have 200 horses. I could always just go turbo and then swap transmitions. But the price of that would be equivalent to an engine swap. AHHH i dont know what to do, i want to swap but i love the sound of a turbo.
