I am horrible, but at least I've tried a couple of times. I can go partway down the hill and then I'm toast. Turning's a prob. too

I ate hard crap the first time I went....like faceplant at full speed style ....like big white cloud of snow style....like everyone laughing style....its all good though cause I am a clown anyways! My dumb friend who was supposedly "teaching" me just said 4 simple words...."use your back foot" and took off down the mtn hauling ass and carving it up....I was left thinking....back foot?....what do I do with it? Haha next thing I knew I was headed straight down the hill with no brakes and no ideer how to turn....simple braking system=eat crap so thats what I did and damn was I good at it....all day long in fact

i snowboarded the last 2 winters for about one week last year, and one day the year before. im half desent, i pick up on almost all the "agressive" sports. by the end of last year's winter vacation, i was doing 180's, i could do black diamonds, grab the board in the middle while kinda in the air, usualy land that. go fast. i was half desent for only having 1 week experence. it was deffinitaly adicting, and i almost was gonna goto college in a place that had snow just so i could snowboard.

i used to go snowboarding when i lived in Vegas, i went up to Mount Charleston... and would board a little.. not like i could do it all that often.
My world industries board was THE shit... i loved that board.. sold it when i left Tucson Arizona to move to Dallas Texas... didnt need it in Texas... b/c its flat and didnt have any place to go boarding. I REGRET selling that board :( .. why ?? b/c it was an awesome board.. plus its kinda hard to find a 144 board.. yeah im a shorty The first time i went boarding... i ate it soooooo hard, and i was SOOOOOO sore.. so i practiced on stopping and turning more then trying to keep balance. When i was younger i used to skateboard, then i quit that, and i tryied snowboarding, figured it was the same.. WRONG... totally different. But yeah snowboarding.. you learn to love it, and get addicted to it.. and your sooo sore.. and you use muscels you didnt know you had.. and regardless of how sore you are.. you try to find someway to go back the next day... thats why i cant wait to move to Seattle... |

yeah pavement is definetly not forgiving whatsoever....but ice can hurt like a son of a monkey too. I have not gotten anything close to the road rashes I would get from skateboarding....when I snowboard so I guess in that respect the falls are better in snowboarding....just remember....faceplants on cement=BAAAD, faceplants in snow=FUNNY

Faceplants in slow are funny? I remember my 4th day snowboarding and doing a faceplant in the snow. It was no where near funny. Infact, I left a blood stain half way down the mountain while the dumb guy on skies kept asking if I wanted to ride down and get medic attention. It hurt, it wasnt funny. =/ |
