35 offset on a civic?

the wheels i like have a 35 offest and i wanna buy 'em for my 1999 civic. i think the standard is 40 on a civic, right? would these work or not? i have no idea and don't wanna take a huge risk, especially since my car's lowered about 1.5.

Do not go with a +35 offset, youll be sorry you did. I have a +38 (the rim is 6.5 inches wide.) and they rub in turns. Keep your offset over +40... If you can get a +45mm thats even better.
