Funky noise...??

So i've had my civic (2002 ex sedan) for a year now. ITs 5 speed, and i never really noticed this noise before. But whenever the car isn't in gear but the rpms are up (like when i'm reversing, and i put the clutch down but i'm still moving backwards), i hear this noise in the engine area. Its like a slight.. gargling... grinding... sound... Sounds as if you put some rocks in a bucket of water and sloshed it around. You can barely hear it, and it doesn't sound bad necessarily, i just never noticed it before. IS this anything or am i being paranoid.

It could simply be air in your cooling system. Check the level of coolant, and check for leaks. I had air in mine and it made a similar sound.
