94_AcCoRd_EX, about the recall...
Could you please give me the recall number of that one?
Oil seal.. Or the date it was issued. I bought the car last year, & I have no idea if it was done. I'm not the type to take useless risks. Thank you..

Yeah, let me look into it and I'll get back to you. It is a good idea to get done and takes ~15 minutes I believe.

I think its this one: Engine block oil seepage, 1994-97 Accord (98-042)
I'm not totally sure, because my official recall notice is at my parents' house, and I'm away at college. You can go to www.alldata.com for a HUGE list of every accord recall.

ummm... 15 mins??
i wished... my seal broke a few months back and i never recieved the recall notice.... so ne ways i took it to the garage and the labour was crazy insane.... the part was like 5 bucks but the labour was 10 hours at $65/hr cdn.... so after they cleaned up my engine bay and everything it came close to about a grand..... but the good news about everything is that i called up honda and they refunded me everything..... PHEWWFF.... more money to spend on the car again.... hehehe moral of the story is.... the amount of time to get to the oil seal is crazy... they literally take apart the whole right side of the engine to get to it.... |

Oh, sorry, I guess I was wrong about the time. Seems to me that I took my car in for an oil change and that, and it took less than an hour. It was awhile ago though, so the time probably slipped my mind.
That sucks that yours broke, but nice that Honda payed you back for everything.

I'm 99% sure its still going on, so you should be just fine. Just swing by the dealer and ask them what's up.
