the reason i have to get the insurance under my name is because i'm goign to school in a different province. SO that's why the insurnace goes way up to. But NOW my parents are thinking that i should'nt have a vehicle in Calgary....WHAT THE F***?!? How am i supposed to do ANYTHING then!!!

Mine is just a tad higher then $2k/year, but I have a pretty long list of driving violations to my name.

$2300/yr for a 91 accord?? either you have one MESSY record or you need to find a new insurance company. mine just went up to a 3 year high of $1900/yr due to the wonderful new subaru owners finding inantimate objects more and more often.

Uhhhh....are you sure about that? Either you're wrong, or they changed the laws in the last couple of years, or it's a policy of your company or parental units. There never used to be a law in GA requiring a non-dependent driver to have their own policy (except maybe some age restrictions, like 21 or 25). As long as you are a dependent, you can be on your parents policy.....unless they just changed that. Or unless it's your parents or insurance company saying that....in which case your insurance company or parents would suck.

Mine finally just went down....I think I'm still getting ripped, but I forgot what my rate was. I used to pay 1100/6mos. on the Accord, I think it's something like 3-400/6mos. now.

Mine is... well... bad. Somewhere around 3300/year I think, with 250/500/500, 1k deductible. Before you ask, I have ZERO violations...

Man I love my insurance company. My car got attacked, basically, by some wolves around my house. they were after one of my cats that was in my car somewhere. They messed my car up pretty bad, so the insurance company sent me a check for 1500. So I'm getting a full body kit and Z3 fenders. Sorry to hear about that insurance though man - that sucks.
