So I figure Advance Auto Parts owns me $30
I went to do an oil change on truck this weekend (a rarity, I assure you) so I headed up to my local Advanced store and as soon as I walked through the door this guy asks me what he can get for me. I figured "whatever...let this monkey do the legwork". So I told him I needed 5 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic 10W30 and a filter for an '01 GMC Sonoma 4.3L 2WD. He fetches all of the stuff and rings me up. Then I drove down the street to my wise old native american friend and resident GMC expert Lee for a little help cuz the confines under the truck are rather cramped and he can take care of the job in like 10 minutes tops (in exchange for me letting him use my 33% discount at work from time to time). I always make sure I've got the right stuff before starting and everything looked ok. We got everything finished up (he even filled up my tires and checked my radiator without my asking...the man's a godsend) and I started it up...60psi oil pressure and we're good to go. I pulled out and started back up the street and noticed my "check gauges" light. Look down and oil pressure is motherfucking 0. I then look behind me and and I've got about 1/8 mile long trail of oil on the street behind me. So I reverse it back to Lee's and we look at it. There's oil all over my undercarriage coming from my filter. So, upon a trip back to the store, we aquire a new filter (me still thinking this was a production error). Then I realize that the filter part number I originally got is only remotely close to what I needed...about half the numbers matching. So I bought the RIGHT filter and 5 quarts of Havoline (didn't have the money for 5 more quarts of Mobil 1 and it'll hold me till my next oil change). So these dipshits gave me the wrong filter costing me a filter and 5 quarts of precious Mobil 1 (shit's expensive...but it's the best you can get aside from Amsoil) and I suppose they also cost me the extra $25 for the shit I had to come back and buy. May they all smoke an eternal turd in hell. Bastards. Now I know never to let those douches get stuff for me. I'll never end up with the right shit.

Yea they are idiots..
I tell them I am looking for spark plugs and they ask me what year car.. I tell them it won't help.. they don't let me get out WHAT spark plug I am looking for. I know I need a 3/4 non tapered, gasketed plug witha specific heat range, and the idiots are still asking me what engine, heads, car, automatic, etc. They don't know shit. How about this.. it's a 57 chevy, late model 350 stroked to a 383 with dart aluminum heads and a viper t56. Now find my plugs bitch. |

I just remembered.. Ihave an optima battery that has to be put on trickle charge when recharging it.. I killed the battery, told them to put it on trickle charge, and of course they didn't so they fried the battery. Then they did it a second time.. 3 batteries in 3 months. |

Believe me, I tried. They said I should've noticed the difference and not installed it. It looked identical (it was actually the filter for the 4WD models from an earlier year with remote oil filters) so after much bitching at the manager he flat out told me that since I installed it he wouldn't give me a refund even though his douche bag employee was the one that fucked up.

His employee installed it?
if that's the case...keep fighting it until you become on of those customes that the people don't want to see anymore and just give up and give you the money back

No no...I installed it but his employee fucked up by giving me the wrong one after I asked "and you're sure this is the right one?".

Of course it's their fault...but not a ton of stuff I can do if they're gonna screw me. If it was a big purchase I'd raise all hell...but for $30 I'm pretty lazy.

Well...that would mean driving 2 hours, bitching for a while and hoping I get the money, then another 2 hours back. I'd spend more in gas then I'd get back.
