lined up with an SVT
I was in the GTP again going to work when I see a red light and a SVT Lightning in the left lane. I knew I would lose but I went for it anyway. When the light went green he stepped on it a little but not much. When he saw I was still beside he he floored it. Now I like Lightnings but this thing sounded horrible(all kinds of rattleing):o. Any way he pulled on me, very slowly and when he was about a half car lenght he hit the brakes and got in a turning lane and turned. I shot him a wave and went on to work. I would have liked to race again flat out because I just barely had the pedal pushed. I think I could have done better. Oh well.

Something bad has already happend. Twice. End result was a totaled car both times. Stopping SR is easier said than done, it's like quitting smoking or giving up caffene(SP?) you can't just wake up one morning and the urge be gone. I know it can be dangerous, but that's the risk you take. Plus it's a great rush Don't say I'm an idiot or I'm stupid for racing, because you all have done it and know how it feels. Especially when you win.

I'm gonna have to call bullsh*t on you saying that you don't street race. How are you gonna sit there owning a 57 Chevy, '02 Audi TT Quattro & '94 Civic Si and say that you don't line up with another car every now and then?

What does what I have have to do with anything? Everyone here knows I HATE street racing.. I have the Audi which is the wifes car.. fun car but not a race car.. the honda is a slow reliable 30mpg POS, and the chevy has been driven 100 miles in 3 years. |

I don't streetrace.. if you have been here longer than 2 months than you would know that.. ask anybody here. I can't stand the fucking ricers like you that think your ugly ass 3 is so fast that you have to weave in and out of traffic endangering people's lives. I follow to stir up shit when people like you post bs posts about how you killed a focus. |

Why are you hating on the MAZ 3? It's not a ricer, I'm definately not ricer. Because it looks better and is faster than your "pos 94 civic"(your words not mine)? And you never answered my question. You have never street raced?

hey now lets all get along. My definition of rice is the trash i see walking out of autozone, with their new spinning hubcaps for their 94 civic vx, and they think they race; that is rice. Yeah i race, but i'm not stupid about it, it's not worth it. The place i race is practically abandoned and i almost always have friends close the road down, and it only happens every so often. Sometimes it's high-speed runs on the highway, that are done LATE at night on the 1-mile stretch of I-395. But all i have to say is be smart and know your limits, because once it gets out of control, then everybody who enjoys this hobby, is going to be shit on.

LOL! Thats completely my bro... I mean he wont pull up to a line and rev his engine and stuff but hes got a 93 accord with plastic spinners on it. He needed new hub caps cause he get snow tires and the factory hub caps wouldn't fit so he just decided to get the plastic spinners He's got a really nice sound system though so thats where all his money went. |

Actually I did answer your question.. re-read the thread.. thanks. And even the focus isn't as ugly as the 3 lol. And yes my 94 civic is a 220,000 mile pos grocery getter.. sorry but that's what they are. I have the civic so I don't have to drive my 57. |

Oh I get it now. You're one of those people who hates on imports because your domestic is so much better and faster. And you hate because I'm guessing you been beaten a couple times by us "Ricers". And that's why you "don't street race". I don't think a domestic is any better than an import. In fact domestics aren't nearly as reliable as imports. So if you hate imports why are you here? Other than to talk down to us like you're better than we are.
This is for all the haters. |

This thread needs to be renamed to "Bitch Session by Honda_Killa and V8killimports......
Streetracing is wrong...yes....people can get hurt/killed and a bunch of other bad shit can come out of it...truth of the matter is streetracing has been around in one form or another for as long as there have been cars on the road. I'll admit I have streetraced up until the last time I got pulled over and given a "freebee"... In Hall County, GA...the price for streetracing is loosing your license, $1100 fine, and jail....so I don't streetrace anymore. Anyway, the point I was trying to make amongst all my babble was even though something is wrong, it's not going to make someone stop doing it until something bad happens to them. If someone wants to streetrace, let them and let them deal with the consequences later....

First off, I own an american, german, and japanese car.. I like the honda because it will run forever. The audi is a nice refined car that is just fun to drive. The chevy is a bastard to tune sometimes, but nothing beats a good ole monster V8. I don't bash inports.. I have grown to like a lot of them.. please look at how long I have been here, and how long u have been here. |

I don't care how long you've been here. You're acting like a newb, you should be the mature one. And actually my real life IS like FaF. Except for the stealing. As far as driving, racing, friends, and the cars it's real for me. Don't hate because you ain't cool enough to hang

man look what I started im such a bastard
but really with the laws now (expecially in florida) you get caught streetracing you go to jail, car impounded, lose your license, fined over 300, basically raped and dude by putting that your life is like f&f you just bought yourself a one way ticket to bashing by a numerous amount of people, you're lucky a few others i know havent torn you apart. I'm just saying that you need to calm a bit on the street racing and find a safe place, preferably a strip. In all honesty i think v8 is being more mature by not putting people's lives in danger. It's the kids that go out and think they are invincible and try to imitate fast and furious bs. which by the way was all computer generated as far as the racing went. oh and with all due respect Accordinstyle, It's just someone runs the risk of possilby injuring/killing a close friend/relative/love as a consequence to their stupid act Last edited by CD5Passion : 05-29-2004 at 04:57 PM. |

#1: I've got no prob with going to a strip, but one problem I do have. There isn't one. No offense, but people bitch about taking your racing to the track, but how is it possible when ther isn't one? I mean we got a 1/8 track out in the country, but since it's the only one around here, EVERYBODY goes to it and you're lucky if you can get 2 runs in about 3 hours. And if you do get to run it's usually against something like a damn pro street car.
#2: When I said my life is like FaF I didn't mean that fake ass, bull shit 2 Fast 2 Furious which IS mostly cg. I meant the 1st one with a little cg like the first and last race. Most every thing else was real. Nevermind, I guess you have to experience for yourself. *sigh* All this from a damn simple race. |

I've personally driven an SVT cobra and it isnt much fun until the boost kicks in. And for me it didnt kick in until the car was either floored or above 4krpm.
As for your GTP its a pos car, save yourself the money and possibly someones life and stop lining it up with people. |

do the right sh1t and the cobra is a rather nice ride, my ex's good friend had a cobra and that tihng was lots of fun to ride in, course the women that owned it was a pyschopath behind the wheel so it was floored 98% of the time

throttle response possibly? handling? and i know for a fact that a mustang is a cramped ride, especially if you plan on putting 4 people in one. I personally don't like the way they drive (well the gt's and the v6's anyway, haven't driven a cobra) it's just too big of a car for me.

Its a large car on the outside, but no space on the inside. What is also disappointing is the finishing on a car like that, reminds me of a low end mustang.
Handling sucks, finish sucks and theonly good thing thats good is the 400tq 400hp. |

The beauty of a roots blower...boost is a function of throttle response. If you had floored it you would've gotten full boost pretty quick...around 2500rpm or so...maybe a bit lower. Roots blowers just act like turbos with pulleys. As for the original point of this thread (if anyone remembers what that was), no way a GTP is holding with a Lightning unless the guy isn't trying or there's something seriously wrong with it. You can eliminate driver error since they're all automatics. As trucks go those things are beasts. I just wish I'd have bought one instead of my POS Slonoma.
