Springs and Struts
Im looking to lower my lude and i would like to get a set of lowering springs and struts. Now since i don't have a spring compressor, i can't see a way to install the springs on the new struts -- but as i was thinking, since the lowering springs will be smaller than stock, do i even need a compressor? Can i just slide on the new springs and they will tighten themselves when the car is put back on the ground.
Any insight on the easiest way to do this would be great!! |

i didn't need a spring compressor to install my springs. However i needed one to remove the old spring (you will need the upper spring seat and the bushings from the old suspension). I don't know guys if u have any murray stores around you but i rented for free a sring compressor from them.
As for shocks get koni yellows.

lowering
well im not sure. I plan to get a set of 17's this spring and my buddy got a set of eibach sportline springs which he never put on his Del Sol - i am almost 100% sure they will fit on my ride so it looks as if im going to buy them off of him. So as an answer, i really am not sure how much i want to lower it. I don't want to hit roadkill on the road with the chassis but i want it to improve handling and look tiiiiight.
Conclusing, 1-2" ?? -- sound right? |

they will not fit. your car is too heavy for those springs, you will hate your ride quality, the car will sit funny and will handle like ass.
