question about the 4th gen lude

i've read some place that the 4th gen lude v-tec did not come with an automatic transmission. is that true ? i was considering the swap, but i really don't feel like changing from auto to manual (i know how to drive stick but i drive a lot in stop and go traffic and i don't feel like changing gears). is that true ? i really don't want to go with a newer engine than 95 because of the obdii emissions and they are a pain to convert the engine to obdi.

well.... they do not come with a auto. but the h and f serise manuals are interchangable.. so i'd imagine if you can find a p13 auto ecu it would work with your current tranny. but i cannot stree enough that a h22 NEEDS a 5spd to be appriciated. the swap isnt that hard, its pretty srtait forward, my friend just did one in his CRX. i dont even think about shifting any more. i actaulay cannot drive auto, cause i feel im forgetting to shift and whatnot

see the current tranny is blown. the car actually drives but it jerks really bad when changing gears, and only the passanger wheel has traction for some weird reason, so uisng this tranny is out of the question. i think i found a swap with an auto and it's 200 chaper than the manual. thanks for the help thou

you guys dont see how nice the h22 really is unless you have a stick. and dont buy the SS tranny.. its a POS IMO and all the 5th gen owners who've got some sort of extra power in their car (i/h/e or even less)

i was just wondering. and i really got to drive auto and manual ludes, and they don't seem too much of a difference to me. the manual is a bit faster, ican say that, but if i go manual all those changes inside the car( new cluster, new center console, clutch pedal, master cylinder--yeah this one is under the hood). i just don't think it's worth the pain for a daily driver.

well, clutch somes on the engine, the shift linkage can be picked up cheap, pedal all that... not too bad. i dont think you need a new master cylender. but if you REALLY wana stay auto... your killing at least .5-.7 off your 1/4 mile time.

see i don't race at all. you can see that by looking at my kills in the racing forum. all i want is a bit more speed, than the messed up f22. yes it's going. i'm just trying to figure out a way to mate an auto to a OBDI h22.

heh.. took 3 mins... anyways heres what i found:

Quote:
a h22a into a accord isnt as hard as u would think.

Your going to use Accord Axels, or custom prelude axels (but the prelude axels aren't worth the trouble). You need a prelude driver side mount, and I think that's the only mount that changes if I serve myself correctly. You need the ECU, the motor, all sensors and everything else that goes along with it. If you have vtec now, then you are good but if you don't then you need to have VTEC wired in.

thanks. i've heard that the tranny mount needs to be relocated in the swap for the 5th gen accord, and for the 4th gen it will drop right in
