just installed my intake
i just put on a aem short ram intake and it is alot better
i didnt expect much of a difference because everyone says u might get 2 hp and its not really that great. but i did notice a big difference.....the car is tons more responsive and seems to have more than just 2 hp....i think it was a very good buy...well worth the 84 bucks |

Nice! I've never used a short ram, but AEM products are pretty good.

im still an Injen technology fan tho. which i will probably buy. so how much boost do you really think you got from the AEM short ram?

more like 2-5hp if that
I dont really see the reasoning for buying one brand over another (except price) they all do the same thing...in reality its the filter that makes the difference |

shape and length can greatly affect velocity of incoming air...
I'm not saying that AEM is necissarily better than any other... but the different shapes and lengths will change the performance of it... I'm more than happy with my ICEMAN... cuz you can run it as a CAI or a Shortram.

You would get the same power from slapping a cone air filter driectly on your Throttle body. |

is that even safe for the motor, just a filter?
my friend did that to his 91si prelude. i think it hurt the motor then help it. sure there was a power gian. he has install a 92-95 civic SRI to his prelude now tho. i didnt even know a 92-95 civic intake would a prelude till he did it. and he got major gian i believe like 5-6 HP.

You shouldnt do that on OBD2 cars. You have to provide mounting location for the IAT and PCV sub-system

I noticed a diff. when I finally got my intake on didn't notice a power increase (felt small if at all) so much as throttle response and sound
