turbo identification

So a friend of mine is over here in Italy (where every car comes with a huffer on it). We are trying to figure out how to externally identify the turbos that came with the cars from just looking at them. Is there a way to do that, sorry but I'm an all motor sort of guy.

most of them are stamped on the compressor section, to be quite honest.

Yeah, most turbos have raised lettering on the compressor housing that indicate the type of turbo. I believe turbos on most European cars are made my KKK, I might be wrong though.
