Swap help....
Keep in mind i have an 89' Civic DX Hatchback w/ d15b2.
Well since my car is being a piece of junk i'm thinking about swapping. I'm considering a d16, b16, or ZC. I want it to be as easy as possible and not have to do much. I am doing the complete swap, ecu, tranny, pedals, linkage, etc. ( I have an automatic). I'm just needing some input. I know the d16 should be easiest to swap because I won't need to buy the engine mounts. Does the ZC require the mounts? Is it worth going from the 92hp d15b2 to a 110hp d16? I mean i'm gaining MPFI and a 5sp tranny, that should be goor for atleast $400, right? Anything anyone want's to add about swaps, please do.

Just go with a built d16. The ED's a great chassis to work with considering how light it is. Plus you've got a weight advantage cuz it's a DX. Just get a d16z6, head package, ecu upgrade and make sure you upgrade your fuel system too. It'll give you some awesome times and better weight balance than any b-series.

But wouldn't the 137hp from the ZC be better then the 108hp from the d16?

I'm still trying to find out what's wrong with my car. If I have to spend over 500 to fix it, i'm getting a new engine. I'm planning on the ZC for now. Easy to swap and goot amount of HP.

b16 is the best choice, but if you don't want to get the motor mounts go w/ a zc.

not in cali... the smog nazis are never gonna let a Japanese motor pass. However, the d16z6 will be completely legal. That combined with the fact that the first gen zc has the same amount of power as a d16z6, just makes the the d16z6 the better choice... in my opinion. Besides, you could easily find for a couple bills... know anyone who's willing to give up a zc that easily?

Acording to a book i have, the d16z6 only puts out 125hp. Plus, isn't the d16z6 an OBD1 and wouldn't I have to convert that to an ODB0, or something like that?
