Painting interior...thoughts?
I am really thinking about going ahead and painting the interior of my car. Outside it is Viper Metallic Blue and I want a color to accentuate (spelled wrong) that. I am thinking about a Blue and White interior. What are some of your guys thoughts? Where can I get paint specifically made for a job like this? Any input would be great! Thanx.

I should rephrase that. Better than taking Krylon to your vinyl trim. This stuff is supposed to stick.

Here is a thought....
And I wish I could detach my name from this cause everyone is going to laugh. Contact Paper !!! It's Cheap, If you mess up it comes off easy, and It comes in Virtually Every color of the Rainbow (even in Rainbow). It will stick to plastic or vinyl Very Easily, It's very Easy to clean Only down fall is it will tear if you scratch it, even lightly. I've done this Once (I'm Not going tell you where I put it, for the reason of everyone Laughing again) but It was on the Outside of the Car, was pretty easy to install. Just use a credit card to get the bubble out (like tint) and use a razor at the edges... You can also take the part off to make it tons easier, and avoid cutting other things with the razor. I can send you pictures if you want Btw... I think the blue and white color scheme the Vipers Come in is pretty stylish... so white would be my choice. Hope it helps Patrick 4jacks 4jacks@mail.com |

contact paper on the interior seems like a bad idea since people get in and out of the car on pretty much a daily basis multiple times a day.....seems like thatd rip in no time. but id still like to see the pics of what you did

I've never heard of anyone using the film to cover the pieces in there ride...I've seen it many times in mags etc but never heard of how it looks or what the install was like. A heat gun would play a major factor w/ that to shape it..
I used the interior paint and then Krylon on top for the color I wanted..I've heard alot of people using the Model Testor Paint to do the interior as that's made for plastic etc.. I hope this might help out a ltitle..Which ever method you use take your time as it will pay off in the end..... |
