It adds a whole bunch of security and spam blockers. That's about it.

Some manufacturers are saying to hold off installing it due to some potential complications. I'm running it on my laptop with no problems at all though.

I've installed it...no problems but I don't notice any change. Then again my computer was riddled with malware to begin with.

I've heard some people complain about it, but basically all it is is a big collection of all their hotfixes, an on by default firewall, and few other minor things. Some people get annoyed because their p2p software doesn't work anymore (they are just used to being wide open target)

Personally, I think sp2 is not necessary if you are vigilant about keeping your system up to date, and are smart about internet security (i.e, not connecting broadband directly to you computer with no hardware/software firewall)

that sucks. have you tried compatibility mode? i know its a long shot, but it might work. (right click on the executable, properties, then you'll see something about compatibility mode)

actually it was msn messenger that tried to start even tho i didn;t have it set to start in registry or the startup list. i deleted every occurencee of it and i don't have that problem anymore. also from last night till this morning my email/spam messages dropped considerably from 25/night to only 12. way to go

Well I've reinstalled it (properly this time) since my reformat and I'm liking it. No problems so far except that it constantly ask me about the virus check status of my PC...even though I've run Norton AV at least twice since installing it. The security notices are a bit of a pain...but well worth it as opposed to getting tons of shitty spyware.
