Sub question
Ok I'm new to the world of systems so here's a question
what wattage should an Infinite Kappa Perfect 12.1D have at the least here's the specs in case: * Power Handling, Peak: 1400W * Power Handling, RMS: 350W * Sensitivity: 96dB (In car) * Frequency Response (± 1.5dB): 18Hz - 150 Hz * Frequency Response (±3dB): 18Hz - 150Hz * Impedance: 2 or 8 Ohms I want a modest sounding system and trying to stick with audiobahn amps thanks |

that is what you want to run the speaker at. but if you are looking for a good system, look at kicker solo barics, they are sqaure, which besides them looking cool, has more surface area which pushes more air air pushed= BASS! i would drop audiobahn, go with a nice class d amp for your sub or subs. mtx has a nice series

you can only run two amps together if they are designed to do so, i dont know any off of the top of my head.
underpowering subs isn't dangerous, you just dont get the full effect of the bass. if you have any questions just email me them and i will hapily get back to you on them.

audiobahn amp? my god, why buy a clean SQ sub then throw it together with a crapbox amp? your system is only as clean as the dirtiest part... I have an infinity perfect 10.1d powered by an xtant a-6001 or something like that, 600rms @ 2ohms. I just keep the gain at about 2/3 or 3/4... the perfect sub LOVES IT. Picked it up on ebay for 200 shipped.

I bought the same sub you have, perfect 12.1dvc, for my girlfriend, and got a 600watt amp for it. the brand sucks, and I almost tried it as a joke, just because I thought it would sound like crap. it didn't, and it sounds fantastic. Its been awhile since i've done anything with car audio, so I dont want to tell you anything and have you end up ruining a high quality sub like that, so here are some sites i used to learn what i needed to do:
http://www.transcendentsound.com/amp..._impedance.htm http://www.electronixwarehouse.com/e.../whatsdual.htm http://www.a1bigaudio.com/speakerimpedance.htm by the way, how much did you pay for that sub? please tell me you didnt buy it retail... |
