I'm edging more on the lude's side.
A civic dx puts out roughly 120 hp yours has ~160 I believe. This is the stats lude 0-60 - 7.8 1/4 sec - 15.9 dx 0-60 - 8.5 1/4 sec - 16.7 even though this is stock states, his i/h/e won't give it that much of a boost IMO. So I say give it a run! If you won't win it should be damn close! Best o luck! |

Well, I'd just race him to find out, but I'd put my money on you

My money is on the Prelude SI
even though its Prelude SI is auto you'll still be able to take him off the line. |

thanks for all the support except for u hybrid3do0rcx haha..just joking. it's all good, i'm kinda putting my money on him too. maybe i'm just pecimistic. i guess we'll just find out on sunday
mtbiker: i got an auto cause it was either that or an auto accord. the lude was faster. my dad owns a used car lot, so i just buy my cars from him, it was all he had at the time. but trust me as soon as he brings a good car that's 5speed, i'm gettin it!! |

yeah but the lude is as heavy as an accord like 2800 lbs while the civic is only like 2000 lbs.

Unless the guy has a swap you will win. Your car has 160 hp vs. his DX that has 106. I/H/E isn't going to add a whole lot on that engine. He will probably get you off the line, but you will pass him in 3rd.

agreed, you probably will take him by top of 3rd.....3rd in a civic is no fun. unless of course he gets a serious jump on you.
just cuz he has an EX doesnt mean anything. ask Bret. he has a 98 civic HX with just a couple bolt ons and he ran a 15.7. 15.7!!! thats faster than prelude si so.....the chance is there for him to win. cant say just because he has less power hes likely to lose, theres no logic to that really. |

There is always an exception to the rule. There are guys on the prelude board that run 14.8@90 with an Si prelde I/E. But on a whole the DX will usually lose because it is seriously underpowered even more so than an HX. If it were an EX I would say she would probably lose. Driver does have a lot to do with it, but with an auto she has less of a chance of messing up a shift. I think it will be a very close race but in the end I think she can take it. My usual response to this would be race him and tell us about it.
