info on some engines

Hi, my names giasone and im new to the forum..i found the website off google when searching hondacivic pics..coz their my favorite car. I dont own one yet but soon to be..
Just wanting to know the differences between Vtec and stock engines?
I dun really know much about cars so can ya help me out!!

What's Up Man!!

Vtec kicks in at higher RPMS. It technical crap that has to do with Valve timing. But the basic scoop is Most cars have one setting for all levels of RPM .. Vtec was the first to come out with TWO settings one for low RPM and one for high RPM's... the result better performance, better gas milage, better every thing.
now all the car company's have something similiar or better. BMW's Valve-tronic blows the doors off of everything though! .. anyway if you want the technical low down do a quick search on this site, thiers some links around!
