I've never removed a rev limiter on a car before so I don't know.
Why do you wanna do that?
I'm goign to move this to the high performance....not many people check in the Del Sol Forum...
Oh by the way
Got pics of the little del sol for me...I'm obsessed with them.

you'll have to modifythe ECU, replace the ECU, or add a piggy-back system that'll override the ECU.

You probably understand that the problem lays in the ECU!

No, no photos yet. I bought it Saturday and do not have a digicam.

I knew it was the ecu, just wanted to know if anyone around here has done it. I race at the drgstrips around me and 115 mph is fine for them. But there is a road course near where 115 is not so good. Is there a JET chip that heightens or removes it? I checked out hondata but they say nothing of the speed limiter. Do JDM ecu's have limiters?

Many thanks to anyone who tackles my questions. I've been around since January so I *know* most of ya. lol

Due to my (I guess) not so keen reading ability I overlooked some info on the hondata site. lol They do remove the speed limiter. One of the dealer/tuners for them is in my area too. It's a lot of cash though. Probably doesn't include the dyno time either. Oh well, what ya gonna do...

I believe JET makes a chip for the b16 but I'm not a fan of their products. I'll just have to save up for the hondata. I reckon.

Well, the jet chips advance the timing for one. So in the future whether I go forced induction or nitrous I will have to remove it. Advanced timing is a no no with them.

Second, my dodge dakota guys have never really seen much gains from the JET chips. Not sure if it's the same with the hondas.

Number one is my main reason.

Ever felt like a total tool? hahaha I found me a stretch of backroad between some cow pastures. I live in Texas, what'd ya expect? lol And did some high speed runs. The 115 mph speed limiter is only in 4th gear!?! When I shift the thing into 5th right at 114 or so I can go well above 120. I still am not used to this thing. Cra-Z Honda... Thanks everybody.

you must have a very optimistic speedometer that's weird with the limiter in the fourth. maybe you are running out of gear or something like that.

Depends also on your fuel cut off point...might cut off in 4th going that fast.

My buddy had his CRX ECU JETted, and it did absolutely zero good. And with an intake, header, exhaust, and JRSC, he should have seen something.

Hondata is definitely the best. If you're like me and don't wanna spend the coin for Hondata, look into the ECU mods at jdmhondaparts.com- not bad at all.

Check with skunk2 they make some qaullity products.....My boy can rechip ecus with the skunk2 style chip for a hundred bucks....I dont know what the rev limiter will hit but I know it increases it and also the fuel and I also understand it will open up vtech sooner....But I would definetlly NOT recomend taking out your rev limmiter ....Big NO NO....You can do it but if you end up going to high you better be ready to empty that piggy bank.......But definetlly check out skunk2 chips....
Good luck
TY

so, you have a speed limiter at 115 in 4th, but if you shift it goes beyond that speed? doesnt seem like a speed limiter.
