i dont think 27k is too much for it really. You'll smoke any brand new car out there including those hemi powered domestics and the new generation of ricer STi/EVO VIII. i just I just look at it different.... dont get me wrong tho, I wouldnt buy it. i rather buy a totally stock one and mod it myself...

a bank will finance about 16-19k of that, so you only gotta save up about 10grand. than make payments on the loan.

Not really.. when I turn 21 I get an inheritence from my grandparents(Whichis in 8 months) They set it up for me when I was a baby... and it's supposed to "Pay off college loans, buy a car, and buy a house" so.. Im not worried about money... problem about a stock one.. is ya dont find many stock ones these days that havn't been atleast slightly modded that are worth the price they are going for.. We shall see..

wow i just ejaculated, everywhere.
i'm picky about supras and that is just beautiful. But ren you'd always have to have your boyfriend in the car, otherwise you'd pick up so many guys it'd be rediculous.

I haven't been here lately..so it's too much to try to cram in my head in 2 minutes. So, bare with me. I agree with Therm, I wouldn't buy a car heavily modded. No pride in it. Yes, pride damnit, I have pride.

Like VR4 said, that thing's basically going to be a dyno queen. Supras are great cars...but they have trouble handling more 400-450hp in terms of hooking up. I once raced an 800hp Supra that should've handed me my ass...he just never hooked up. And by never I mean smoking in first, hooking for a second in 2nd then smoking the tires, same deal in third. But hey...it's nice work if you can get it.
Oh...and the body kit is a bit much for me.

Like therm said about not buying a modded car....wel because I know I beat the piss out of my stock car let alone one that would be pushing 500+hp on pump gas.....I am almost willing to put money on it that he has raced that thing at the track on the street at least once....

I have wanted a supra for awhile... Im not getting it for looks.. not for what anyone else likes.. this is what I want... I am using my money to pay off my college loans and down payment for the supra. The rest goes back into ira's because i am looking for land to buy so I can build me a house. I am using this money wisely. My brother spent his on alot of shit and blew his money within a year.. I dont wanna do that.. so.. My money will pay for my wedding, my college loans, and the rest goes back into iras to collect more so i can buy me a house..

Agree with Therm and MissJDM...pride PRIDEPRIDE! I don't think there is anything cooler then doing your own car up..and not to be rude...but I think it's gay buying a car that is already done up. Too easy, too boring, too lame. The car is alright..but the hood and body kit on that thing are awful...rims are shit....Buy a stock one..or a barely modded one..

Man, DelSol, you so rock. "Too easy, too boring, too lame." Good way to put it. It's not just that, but Karen, also ask yourself if you're ready to work on it if things go wrong. I know you don't know much about civics, but how are you and toyota? Be prepared to know your car if that's what you want.
I dunno, I'm just so nazi on the buying a modded car thing.

Can a Supra motor even realistically push a T-78 on the street? That's almost big for MY motor. I guess it depends on the housing and A/R ratio...but my guess is that you'd have major lag and wouldn't even feel the turbo until waaaaay up in the tach...but then it would hit like a tank and start snapping shit left and right. Hehe. But then again I don't know much about Supras.

Ran into an old friend yesterday and her exboyfriend, aka dumbass still has a em1 and just bought a t66 for it..has 660 injectors or so and planning on getting 1200cc.
He's also the one that I mention often who is boosted, with a fully built longblock, head package and running 16s.

He must be one of those "bigger is ALWAYS better" dumbasses. I've seen guys slap 850cfm carbs onto basically stock motors and wonder why the thing barely runs. If anything, that turbo is actually hurting him by impeding the exhaust flow. You too can have boost...kicking in at 8000rpm!

Am I ready to work on it? Of course.. Im not going to buy a car I know nothing about... and like I said I would buy stock if I could find one around here worth buying... I think stock is just as sexi as modded... It's not like I PLANNED on buying a modded car.. Just happened to be one of the good ones I found around here.. But all in all I have no need to explain myself on what I get and why I want it. I've had people tell me I'd be stupid to get a house at the age of 20 with my money.. and as far as im concerned I dont give a shit what people say... No offense to any of you cause I did post it on THIS board to ask for opinions.. but in the end all that matters is how I feel about it.. when it all comes down to the final decision... but thanks for your input..

I have this feeling that ^ post had Lyna in mind at least 1%. . I guess I just can't imagine you working on a car because I've never really heard you talk about working on your civic or anything. I'll tell you that I barely know chit about Supras, as far as motor work goes. So, what do you know about the Supra anyway? Buying a house at 20 is NOT bad. My dad invests in RE and it's one damn good investment. If my parents would let me spend the money on a house, I definately would. Too bad they wouldn't.

Honestly Lyna im a bit annoyed with your attack of every single post I have made in the past couple of days... do I talk about working on my civic... nope sure dont... am I working on my civic... Other than the sound system which Scott and I installed and doing the interior in red.. nah thats all.. I figured if Im going to get a Supra why continue to do anything to the civic.. Now the question about what do I know about the 2jz.. and could i rip the engine apart... what the fuck does it matter.. If someone said they have wanted a ferrari and had the money so they are getting one.. I highly doubt you would ask them "do you know how to rip the engine apart". Now I posted this thread on here to get feedback, but if anything I post is going to be end up being an attack on me then I might as well stop posting period..

Alright chill out. The comment about being able to rip apart the motor...it's cause that motor obviously has A LOT done to it. Since it has that much done to it...I'm not surprised if it hasn't had the shit beaten out of it, it's whole life. That's the main reason why I would be so worried about it. Cause man I tell ya, if I had that kind of power under me, I wouldn't be driving it like I drive my civic. I can honestly say that I would drive the fuck out of that motor. Cause since i have 5 other MKIV's, I obviously could afford to.

As I have said.. and as the thread name says "thinking" of... I highly doubt your ganna find a supra.. stock or modded that hasnt been ridden to hell and back these days.. Since that bullshit of a movie came out.. but honestly the whole point of what I said was back the hell off of me with personal attacks.. I am not the only one who has noticed lyna and you sol attacking alot of my posts...

Honestly Ren...I don't think Derek or Lyna were trying to put you down or whanot. I think they raised some pretty legitimate questions that everyone should consider...especially when buying a modified used car. Maybe the posts were worded wrong...I dunno. I don't think anybody's trying to make it look like you don't know what you're doing (at least I hope not)...they're just trying to make sure you know what you're getting into.

She may not even have to even rip apart the motor. You wont know this until she gets it and drives it around and something goes wrong. And if she does. Heck find someone to knows a lot about them and they can help her. Theres always a first time for everything.
