Lots of Prelude Questions for the pros

i want to buy a 92-96 prelude by the end of the year, but i dont know too much about them, just that there faster than any stock civic or acura.

Which is the best model and whats the difference, they got si, se, vtec?

is there a big differnce in performace between manual and auto transmission

after how many miles do they start to loose ther power 50k 75k 100k ?

how fast are they on the 1/4 mile stock.

do they all come in a 2.3 liter or are there 2.2 liter engines.

any who can spend the time to answear my questions is truly cool

i really need some advice on how to mod this car, but i want to get the right one first.

ok here are the trim levels:

Prelude S 135hp/140 tq 2.2 SOHC
Prelude Si 160hp 2.3l DOHC non vtec
Prelude Vtec 195hp/156 tq 2.2 DOHC vtec

and yes a tranny will make a lot of difference. get the manual. more fun

jsut a little number editing for ya

prelude S 135hp 142tq
prelude Si/SE 160hp 156tq
prelude VTEC 190hp 158tq

the SE was made in 95, it came in 2 limited colors, special 15' rims, and it got the full leather interior the VTEC preldues have. the VTEC model only comes in 5spd for the 4th generation(92-60 body style) and the vtec engine was only offered in 93-96. if your looking for one, the 94-95 years are said to be the best, they get the unpgraded unterior, the leather package, and nicer/lighter rims. the motors will run strong forever considering they are taken care of. people actulay can run better times at 100k than 3k (rumored to be carbon buildup on piston heads causing an increase in CR) the vtecs only came in black red and a blish dark green almost jade color

1/4 mile times....

VTEC- 14.9-15.1
Si - 15.5-15.7
S- dont buy one

HUGE difference between 5spd and auto... almost 1/2 a second
