I KNOW I shouldn't post this, but here goes....
First off I'm not one to post kills and try to brag about my ride. There's plenty of cars that are faster than me and I'm fairly humble. Anyhow here goes.....
I was leaving Tire Disconters by my house(had to get a tire fixed, that's another story). I decided that since it was a nice day I'd cruise around a bit. To the point... I was in a turn lane to make a left turn. The turn area is two lanes wide. Well I'm messing with my radio trying to find something that I can tolerate on the radio. This nice yellow vette pulls up in the lane next to me. I think nothing of it. I have no idea what the HP rating is on these things but they have to be quicker than me, right? So the light turns green. The vette revs his engine and takes off. I'm like what the hell I'll go for it. I flip my switch and put the pedal down a bit to catch up. He slows to get next to me and revs again. So I purge a couple of times(I think he thought my car was going to blow up). And he hits the gas. So I floor it. We were right next to each and then I started pulling ahead. I was like WTF? Well I stopped at the next light and the guy pulls next to me. I glance over and he flipped me off! I was like what the hell? Now before anyone flames this post, I just want to add that yes he was racing(hence the revving of his engine and the fact he slowed to get next to me). Maybe this was a fluke. Maybe he was a bad driver. I don't know. The vette was an auto and was the previous generation(the one before the C5). All I know is he was pissed that I beat him. I want to find another one so I can see if this was a fluke or he is a bad driver.

Thanks...
I did a little reasearch to see what I was up against.... 1984 Corvette CURB WEIGHT lbs- 3088 ENGINE DATA Displacement- 350 cubic inch V-8 Compression Ratio- 9 to 1 Horsepower- 205 Torque lbs-ft- 290 Fuel Injection- Crossfire I figured they had more HP than that. So I guess its no fluke......

first off congrats to your victory.........
to pull off from a vette you must be running some heavy stuff aren't they running mid 13's to 14's stock. If thats so you must be running a big bottle. I don't think i would do it again though you might get your feeling hurt. |
