I've been on a weird kick of experimental hardcore/post-hardcore lately. Listed in no particular order:

He Is Legend
Look What I Did (argueably on of the smartest bands around)
Dead Poetic
Karate High School
Dog Fashion Disco
Tub Ring
Every Time I Die
Beloved
Showbread

heh post-hardcore, thats emo. at least thats what it sounds like to me with a little screaming.

ive been into primus and some of les claypools other projects lately. i dont really have a giant list cause most new music sucks. nofx came out with a new one, its decent

Yeah...a lot of stuff that gets labeled post hardcore is really just slightly heavier emo. That sucks because there's a lot of really good bands that get tossed in there as well. Oh well. I'll call it that until there's something better to call it.

Anti-Heros
Discipline
Rancid
Raised Fist
Leftover Crack (never stop listening to them though)

i started listening to some older rancid again, pretty much out come the wolves and lets go. i also got the new nofx cd which i like cause they didnt make it 100% political. kinda a renissance for them. ive been just cycling through alot of tool , led zeppelin, doors, primus(and les claypool projects), every now and then i listen to some hardcore, but it dosnt do much for me anymore... too wana-be angery imo. might be that ive started playing alot again and hardcore is very uninspirational for me, i need more of a creative off beat take on music that i get from zep tool and primus.

oh, i just found my presidents of the united states of america cd, the first album. holy shit i forgot how good it was. if you havnt herd it in a while, i highly suggest finding it. you all remeber peaches and maybe lump and kitty. but every song but maybe 1 or 2 are genius, but i like the whole album. listened to it 3 times over the weekend

It's alright if you want something to throw on and fall asleep to, but aside from that I'm not a big fan. Even at that, there's better sleepy time music out there. I don't get why everyone is blowing their load over bands like that.

I've been a huge fan of DCFC for a while, I just love their music because I feel Ben Gibbard is a lyrical genius. All of his songs have something meaningful to say, but he does it in a way that is different. Everyone has their feelings about different music and bands, I just find a certain relaxation when I listen to DCFC.

Fuckin rights doggie! Finally remembered my password after the move!

Ok...

At the drive In
Through the eyes of the dead
Converge
Isis
Rjd2
Dj Shadow
Satanic Surfers
Mr. Bungle

to name a few.
But yes, music these days is bloody horrible. The popular shit anyways. You just gotta look for the good stuff. There will always be talented musicians out there, just more work to find.

Man...I totally forgot about DJ Shadow. I haven't heard any of his newer stuff. Is it anywhere near as good as Endtorduction of Preemptive Strike?

And if you like Mr. Bungle you should really check out Tub Ring. It's pretty similar without being the same.
