cel AGAIN...
At random times, hasn't been anything similar anytime it happened.
CEL will blink once or twice, hear a noise like a relay clicking a couple times, then the engine dies... IDEAS???

sounds like it might be a bad main relay, or the distributor is taking a dump. <--- straight from a honda tech

OMG I"M GOING TO SHOOT SOMEONE OR ROLL UP IN A BALL AND CRY....
Car sat at my mechanics for 3 days and he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I take it thursday morning and by the time i get to work it's acting up again, DAMNIT. I replaced the main relay after work, what a b*tch. Drive it home, and as i'm pulling in it dies. GRRR! Go out this morn at 6 am, try to start it, cranks, but no starting. Get it towed to the honda dealer, now i'm awaiting the bad new...

I had something funny like that happen to me. it would run fine, no one could find any problems, until it escalated. Check the tiny little screw on your rotor. apparently thtas what came loose and was screwing everything up for me. use loctite on it.

Just heard from the Honda Dealership, car is running fine. WTF X 1 million. I'm about ready to take a shotgun to my car. I know as soon as I get it off the lot things are going to go wrong. Gonna call them back and tell them to take it out and treat it like a 16 year old boy in a ferrari and see if maybe it's my driving that's doing it....

Damn, dude. Sorry bout your bad luck. I know how you feel. I replaced the stock 1.5 engine in my car with no help, or prior experience. You can imagine.....as for that main relay clicking...aint that some annoying shit. When your car doen't want to start does it click when your trying to turn her over, because mine does...I think I'll replace the relay and go from there..

screw the dealership, you can replace a fuel pump yourself. buy a helsm manual or at least a chiltons and read on it. good luck with that, I wish I could help, but LA's kinda far!
Don't take a shotgun to your car, I'll take it! |

So i didn't follow what the dealership told me, my mechanic said he thinks they are wrong. As for what my mechanic thinks, he doesn't know. I've bee driving te car softly for the past 3 days. Now and then the CEL will come on and i'll let up off the gas, then it goes off. If i put it in second and floor it, it's an automatic, when i get to about 4k rpm's the engine will stutter and the CEL will blink. Ideas?
I'm going to try to get this on video so you guys can see....

that's odd that they didn't match up. No luck yet, don't want to take it to another honda dealership cause i'm tired of those fools. Had someone there tell me it was becuase i didn't use honda parts when i did my tune up. I did the tune up like 10k miles ago, and wtf would honda plugs and wires do for me that aftermarket plugs and wires can't. That pissed me off.

Yeah, at first I thought it might be a short in my wirring harness because If I could move the wires my car would cut on, but then I tried to fix it by hacking a huge chunk out of it and splicing it with a peice of another harness, but that didn't work. I tried replacing parts of the distributor, but that didn't work. Its wierd because my car did this last spring and then just quit doing it for about 4 months and then just started back up. So I'm going to replace the main relay, then wiring harness, then distributor, then fuel pump. If it sitll doesn't run...........I'll push it into the sea... or into the dealership...cuz with all the new stuff they have to know somthing.

The sea would probably do it more justice.

Took it to another dealership today. He's claiming that they couldn't get it to do it, but that he thinks it's the timing belt??
So what do you guys think, timing belt?

I too replaced the main relay. No luck. A mechanaic told me my timing belt could have slipped a tooth and that's causing my car not to start. I think that might be it. We've thought of pretty much everything else. The thing is, I just had a brand new one put on. I couldn't imagining anything wrong with it. But I'm going to look into it.

Hey, pulled the valve cover today, the timing belt was fine but I then tracked the problem down to a small module inside the distributor. All I did was swap that with a mod, from another distributor and cranked it. It ran like hell before I tuned it but that seemed to have fixed my entire problem. It's a flat shaped clearish module that has nothing to do with the coilpack or condenser. You need to find it though, I'll fix ya car.

that's what one of the honda shops told me, i was like, wtf, that doesn't make sense. Plus I had someone check the timing and it's timed right on the mark, so. I'm finding more about the problem as i drive it. Now, I can almost always get the cel to come on if I hit a bump/pot hole.

Get some parts and fix it cuz over time it'll get worse and then not work at all.
