front clip or complete swap
I am currently researching for my std - ef9 transformation and I was wondering if it is better to get the complete swap and purchase the axles and shift linkage and mounts seperately or just get an ef9 front clip and swap everything over. Would it be possible to use the axles, mounts linkage and harness from a jdm clip?

personally, I wouldnt want to pay for it as a whole clip, because there are going to be a lot of parts that you wouldnt be using...plus shipping would be quite high.
Have you looked at the price differences between the two? Im probably the last one to comment on this...since Im building my swap in pieces and am having a blast doing that. |

If I were to buy a "complete swap" it would cost about 1800 http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000...age&item=30001 and a clip is probably 2100 (just a guess)

if it is a real ef-9 front clip, than buy that, because i spent close to 3200 dollars on ef-9 body parts (front bumper, lips, back bumper, lights, rad support, and a few odds and ends)

If you have the space to store a clip then IMO there's NO question...
Buy the clip use whatever extras you get that you want and sell off anything else... Not to mention the clip is a good protector of the engine... god knows how long whatever swap you buy has been out of the car and what conditions it's been exposed to... at least with the clip it's protected a bit.

If you're really into building by pieces and you've done it before or have lots of help, I'd suggest getting the complete motor. However, if your estimated price for the clip is accurate, then I would purchase the clip. For a few hundred dollars more, you'd get more goodies and like mentioned above..selling the parts you don't need will help you out.
which are you deciding on?? post!
