No Test Drive For YOu!!!!

I went to the nissan Dealership to look at the Xterras. After seeing what they looked like from the inside, I didn't like them anymore...anyways My friend...who drives a bad ass, full FACTORY equipt TSX...asked the sales man if he could test-drive the 350Z...The guy laughed and said that the 350Z is not a car that is test-driven...you just buy it. My friend made it clear that he was seriously looking to trade in his wife's SUV towards a 350Z...He stated that another friend of ours had just purchsed the roadster version...and he was there when he test drove it...
(Now let me explain, My friend, Marlo, is a 6foot4inch, big-black Jamaican, Green Mile looking muthafuka) The salesman stated that there is a policy on test driving the 350Z. When we asked him what were the terms of the policy, he said...There are none...no test drive period. We asked to see the manager and he said he was the manager...It was true...It said sales manager on his name tag.

At this point my friend was a little bothered...He has money to spend and this guy was giving him a hard time. Marlo told him to Fuk-off and that he was being racist. The manager yelled get off the property before I call the cops. Marlo said, "I'll call them myself"...He went to his car and grabbed his cell...When the manager saw him getting into the TSX, his tone changed..."Hey buddy, come back in here and we can arrange a test-drive or something." Marlo walked back up to him and gave him a Martin Luther King speech about brotherhood between all races...This guy was nodding his head like if he was listening...

Bottom line...Marlo did not buy the Z, He didnt even test drive it...He probably would have signed the papers and drove off with it that day if the guy would have given him a chance.

The moral of the story...Ain't nothing like having a big black guy named Marlo as your bestfriend....

I cant stand people like that man. It's like this dealership back in Houston. My ex-wife and I drove in with her raggedy ass Hyundai Accent (was gift) to test drive an 01 Jetta VR6. They gave us a hardtime since we were there with a POS Accent. They must have thought we were gonna trade it. Anyway, we went to a different delearship and bought the same exact car that my ex-wife wanted to test drive from them. We were told that any VW dealership will honor the warranty, a one year oil change, and a 5 time car detail. For sh!t and giggles, we stopped by over there after 2 days to get the car detailed. The mutha**** sales dude was in shock..........

For that dude's defense, he is just trying to perserve the value of the car. I mean, if I were to go in a buy a new car, I sure as hell wouldn't buy a car that has like 50 miles of hard test driving miles on it.

Plus, most of the 350Z's sold probaby were sold without the drivers ever sitting in them before putting down a deposit.

ive never heard of any policies like that, i HAVE heard of some dealerships checking your credit and making sure you can afford the car first before letting you test drive, but never a straight out no like that.

hah i get shit like that all the time...mainly for the way i dress.....

i went into this audio shop who carries some bolt ons.....i was looking for a CAI with my $800 tax check plus i had some other $ saved up

well i asked the guy for some help..he came over and said that they do all the bolt ons through a catalog and they have to order it...i said ok cool let me look through here for a minute.....(keep in mind i'm wearing some 36" bottom menace pants covered in patches,a chimaira shirt that says "full blown ass ripping metal" on the back, have blue hair, lebret and eyebroy piereced,in each ear is a 2 and 4 guage hole)
well he stands there while i'm looking for the CAIs and this dood walks in in kakis and an A&F shirt.....the slaesmen walks away from me and goes to him.......he wanted something stupid..i cant even remember....well the salesmen walks over and pretty much pushed me outta the way to help this guy find what he was looking for

so ok i'm pissed.......well then i go into the sound room..they have punch HE2 12s on sale for like buy one get one free....and i thought...hell yeah i'll get a pair of those and get some replacement 6.5s for all the speakers in my car.....well i stand in there messing with shit and the guy looks in and says "do you know what your doing" and i said "uh yeah" and he said "ok" and walks out.....well i said "hey i might want 2 of these and those alpine 6.5s....so he comes in and starts trying to explain to me the power handeling of the subs...and what DVC meens and crap....and i stop him and say "yeah i know..i've been doing this since i was 16" and he gets all shitty and says "sure whatever" and i was like "so if i dont know anything then how do i know that if you wire dual 4 ohms like this blah blah to get a 4 ohm load and like this for 1 ohm" and he just looks suprised as i explain to him" then he tries to sell me something i dont want and blah blah and i was like look man gimme a minute and i'll let you know.......so he walks out and doesnt come back in....they ignored me the rest of the time....so as i walk out i say "hey mother fukers.ever seen $1500 walk out the door?" and they just look at me and i say "well now you have,oh and dont think i won't be calling your ****in manager to tell them how shitty to me you guys were" and they tried to get me to come back in so i said "hey next time someone comes in here and there not dressed all preppy, you might wanna pay just as much attention to them as you would anyone else.got it ass whipes" and leave

Discrimination is the same no matter what race....thats the moral...lol

Most dealership have a separate car for test driving purposes. My ex-wife worked at a honda delearship and they have an S2000 in the back that is well maintained for test driving. Highly marketed and attractive cars like such (350Z) will surely be asked to be test driven before people buy it. To me, that is just common sense. I will never buy a car that I've never test driven. I dont care even if it's brand new. I'm sure I'm not speaking for myself here........

I agree...If a car is used/pre-owned, I would understand the torture the car must take during the test drives, but a new Fukin car, come'on...The point of my story was that as soon as the manager saw Marlo get into his TSX, he must have realized "aw Sh!t!" "this guy might really want to buy a 350Z...It was less than a month ago my other friend test drove and purchased a 350Z roadster...From the same place...He looks like Obie Taylor...and Marlo looks like Bob Sapp...It might not be race, but it is stereotyping at its worst.

it's kinda funny that I have noticed that whenever I walk into a place selling parts and whatnot I always get great service. make me wonder if it's because I'm partially asian, lol
my girlfriend gets hell from some people or even talked to like she doesn't know anything...my girlfriend knows more about cars than most guys, so it's always funny to watch expressions when my girl just chews a guys head off and makes them look stupid
mind you she is 4'9" and a firey tempered italian with an awesome body, who is older than me (by a month)

I don't mean to come to this guy's defense, because he sounds like a real dick who isn't extremely interested in selling cars....

But a car like the 350Z gets lots of kids and uninterested parties coming in wanting to test drive it just for fun, people who can't afford or just aren't interested in buying said car but want to know what it feels like to drive one. The dealership is there to make money, they only want to invest time in someone they feel is genuinely interested in the car. If you don't look like you can afford the car or are interested, it's much more likely you'll be denied a test drive.

Also people want to test drive these cars before they buy, which is why many dealers have program vehicles for that purpose specifically, then they eventually sell the program vehicle at a big discount.

It sounds to me like this guy just didn't give your friend a chance, of course seeing a TSX makes you seem more like an eligible customer.....he could be racist, he could be a dick, or just doesn't need to sell any of them.
