How to put a system in a 2002 EX...without loosing remote entry and dome lights

DONT CHANGE YOUR HONDA HEAD UNIT IF YOU DO YOU WILL VOID YOUR NICE LITTLE WARRANTY AND YOU"LL LOOSE KEYLESS ENTRY AND YOUR DOME LIGHTS. so heres how to run a system with the factory head unit in.

alright because honda decide to not put pre amps on there factory CD players that come in the 2002 EX's here how you put a system in. what you'll need: An AMP....A sub, a Audi Link Converter (www.crutchfield.com $29.99) and all cables.....

How to do it.......First your gonna have to splice your two rear speakers. Theres two..the one with the white stripe is NEGATIVE. THe one with hash marks is positive. OK, after you have cut thouse wires you'll need to take another piece of speaker wire and put them togeterh. I suggest wire nuts and electrical tape (taps wont work). tap each of the 4 wires in the 2 rear speakers. With taht 3rd piece of wire you'll have to run it to the Audi Link Audio Converter. On it, it says R + - and left +-. put those in there and screw them down. then take the RCA cables and run them from the audi link converter to the amp. then run then run another set of speaker wires from the amp to the sub.

Power you say? Since Honda put the battery on the right side you can run the power cable on the right side. Take the power cable and run it down throught the hood channel and then through the groves in the door (no it wont get pinched and you'll see what i'm talkin about). and then just tuck the wire under the side panels (you dont need to remove them). then just run it up along the backseat Tuck it down in the grove in the seat and since the back seats fold down just go ahead and run it there. Yikes it's now to the trunk...take it and hook it up to the amp. should take 10 minutes to run.

Grounding you need? Take the ground wire and run it from the amp to the bottom bolt of the right side of the trunk lid. underneath the bolt is a non-painted surface and you'll get a good ground. And tht's it.

Now you say remote cable?? EASY AS PIE. run the wire from the amp to the left side of the car in the same manner you installed the power cable...except on the left side. now take it up all the way up to the hood latch and then cross it underneath your steering wheel. Remove the fuse panel (two knobs on right and left side). Now u need to find a fuse that will work.. well since your alternators on when your cars on run it to fuse number 4. pull the fuse out...stick the wire in the fuses spot and then put the fuse back in....

AND NOW YOUR SYSTEM HAS BEEN INSTALLED...Congrats and you just out smarted honda =)

WARNING.......be careful electrical shock sucks ass. also use this information at your own risk. It's not a Technical manual just a helping guide. If you screw up your car (which you wont) it's on you. and make sure everything is grounded.
