B16 vs B18
I'm looking to find what engine would be better for my del sol(b16 or b18). Just wondering if one was better in some area or are they basicly the same. Thanks

I think that'll depend on what series B16 or 18 you want. I don't know much about the B16's but the B18a is 130hp, B18b is 140hp and the B18c is 170hp(I think those are right #'s)

Yep...B18c5 is a type R engine. I think it's 195hp compared to I think 180hp on the b16b

I suggest you put a b18a/b(LS Integra) if you want to do a turbo setup. If you're going with a fast N/A engine, go with the b18C5(integra type r). If you're going with a more reliable, but fast engine, then go with the b16A(Civic Si-R I). The rod to stroke ratio is more balanced

not REMOTELY true. the ONLY thing they share is their tranny. the block is a totally different cast. the head is different. the manifolds are different the list goes on. if you want boost- go LS if you want NA, go b18c spec R if you want a motor, STAY THE F U C K away from osaka. don't belive me? read this and the links inside. http://www.hondaswap.com/forums/inde...=ST&f=4&t=3323 |

Go with a B18C1 Integra GSR motor. they are better than the type R b18c5 because the handle boost better and they are more buildable than the B16's.
