I want NOS...where to get it?
OK, I am going to buy NOS with my tax return (which is going to be pretty hefty). Anyway, I dont know where to start...where to get it. I was thinking about ARDperformance.com but they dont give very much info on what they sell. There is a NOS kit called "NOS Power Shot Kit (Universal)" and "NOS Sportman Fogger Kit (Universal Fuel Injection)" I dont know the difference. Can anyone help me out? Maybe suggest a better place to purchase from? Thanks.

I would find a small shop local, that has done installs.. they will at least know what kit you need, even if your going to install it yourself, a small shop around me still sells a 75 HP shot of NOS for $500 and that's what you get it off the internet for anyway !

Not too many around where I live, but I will still look. Anyone recommend an online place? Also, how exactly does NOS work? The way I understand "75 HP shot", is you use it once...get a 75 HP shot and then you have to refill..is that right? ONE LAST QUESTION, how much does it normall cost to refill...and where do you get it refilled? Sorry that was 2.

Your bottle should hold a lot more than one shot .. I think it's a 10 sec spurt ... or some pre timed amount. I dunno about a Nitrous refill... maybe you should try the Nitrous forum ?

well with a 75 hp shot of nitrious... say I put it on my 118 hp 02 Civic.... I would hit the button ,and my car would preform like it was a 193 hp 02' Civic... for the 10 sec burst. .. You should get a decent amount of burst out of a bottle.

are you guys set on the holly brand kit?(NOS) because there are other kits out there if you just want something basic. the bottle you can figure $3-$3.50 a lb to fill it. i have a 15lb bottle(HUGE) and its 50 bucks to fill, you can go with a dry setup if you want a smaller shot, or the safer way would be wet. or even direct port if you really wana do it right. just saying "i want NOS" makes me think your gonna say " i need a new engine" in about 2 months. to get the full shot out of your kit, you will also want to look into some extras, such as a bottle warmer, and a purge kit. a nitrous gauge is almost a must, i would recomend you upgrade your fuel system so you dont fry your engine, at LEAST a fuel pressure regulator. a air/ fuel gauge will help you see how rich or lean your running, and a vafc or safc depending if you have a vtec engine or not woulndt hurt. the kit says complete ready to run, which is true, but its not the safest way to go.

This belongs in the Nitrous section. You should get some more feedback there.

check with your local tuner shop, or sheck sumit racing in a superstreet mag. they will carry alot of the stuff your looking for. ZEX makes great purge kits, and they also make bottle warmers. what do you want from this kit? a 50 shot? 75 shot? what engine do you have? if your a sohc engine i'd think you should stay in the 60shot range or lower to be safe. also what mods do you have done to your car?

you wana run in between, rich wont hurt anything, but wont performe to its fullest, however lean burns too hot and will damage the engine. a fuel pressure regulaor helps alot there.

Hmmm.... Where to start......
Quote:
The Power Shot kit is for V8s. So don't bother with that one. The Sportsman Fogger is a direct port kit. The Sportsman Fogger and Import Fogger are almost identical with the exception of the pills. ( http://www.nosnitrous.com/HiOctn/Pro...rtfoggers.html ) Since this is your first kit, you may want to consider a dry kit. They will be much easier to install (since you aren't tapping your intake manifold). For this I would suggest ZEX ( www.zex.com ). Quote:
www.summitracing.com - Hands down one of the best places. Great service and good pricing. Quote:
Nope. A typical 15lb bottle will last about 2-3 minutes. Now given the fact that you only spray for about 10-15 seconds at a time, you'll have about 9-12 runs (roughly). Quote:
Anywhere from $3.00-$4.00 a pound. Here's a list of NOS authorized stations http://www.nosnitrous.com/HiOctn/Pro...S/NOSlist.html . Quote:
1 shot = 1 HP If its a good kit (ie - NOS, ZEX, NX) the shots are always consistent. Quote:
The direct port (Import Fogger) you will find to be a challenge. The dry kit (ZEX, or the NOS Import Kit) will be a much easier install. Like I said above, I recommend you look into the ZEX kit. Like 4thGen said, Nitrous Gauge is a MUST. Also look into an air/fuel ratio gauge. Colder plugs are going to be needed as well. Sorry for the delay.........
