EX 2.2 same as Ex civic 1.6?

Are they the same motor except that my car has more displacement? Or what?

Ok Ill clarify it for you guys... i was wondering if the 2.2 vtec 4banger in my 94 EX accord was the same motor that is in the EX civic which is a 1.6 liter... Thats better.. Also do all of the accords my year have vtec or just the EX model? oh by the way im leaving on a mission trip to the dominican republic and wont be back for 10 days so i wont be able to reply... later guys

Not all accords have VTEC.

As for the 2.2 being the same motor as the 1.6, what type of similarities are you looking for? Obviously the fact that one is a 2.2L and the other is a 1.6L already makes a big difference. Is there something specific your looking for.

^ well if you read his name it's pretty clear he's a chevy guy...

SO he's probobly asking if it's the same block like a 350 vs a smal block 400... they're the same engine... just one's bored and stroked from the factory..

to answer your question NO they are totally different blocks...

I believe you engine in the accord is a F22 and the one in your civic is a d16... the letter denotes a different series of engine where the parts interchangable amoungst the same letter code blocks... IE b16 tranny will fit on a b18 or b20 etc...
