razors: what cuts it...and what does not
ok iv been shaving for awhile now and i started when i was younger with one of those electric razors but i coudlnt get as close a shave as i like. Now i use those like real cheap BIC razors that u use a few times then toss them in the trash. I guess those are ok but do those like mach 3's and other stuff ( i know there is a ton of them), do those work better with the change able blades and stuff. Can i get a better shave? Or are they not worth the 20 bucks or so...

Yeah they're better and don't cost $20. Mach 3 turbo is what I use, but the "naturally aspirated" model will work well too.

I also use a Mach 3 blade. I've had to change the blade once in 1 year and I shave almost every day. Still cuts very well.

i'm using the mach 3 turbo aswell and i change the blade every 3 weeks. Sometimes though you get a blade that just doesn't lose its edge, when that happens it lasts forever but it doesn't happen often. |

I just shave everyday with a Mach3 and a bar of soap in the shower. Nice and quick. Does a good job too.

mach 3 turbo and some water in the shower thats it. shaves really well too w/ a blade change every week and a half or so. I suppose I shave maybe every 3-4 days just becuase I dont give a rip about it...and the fact that Im really lazy.

ouch just soap sounds painful.. i use edge "extra protection" cause my face gets chewed up easily.. that might be because when i got the turbo i was trying to get my shaving times below 1.26minutes LOL jks

I don't use any pre/after shave at all. Straight blade right out of the shower.

I don't know how you boys use those 'boy razors'. They're weird. I had to use 1 of my fat brother's mach 3 razors when I was visiting my mom in Texas & it SUCKED!
Not that it matters to this thread, but I use those little cheapy pink disposable razors you can buy at walmart. |

Yes. Well, if you were to come on Saturday night there would be. You could cruise memorial. Lots of good racing. I was out there last night in a friend's Civic racing. It's lots of fun. (If you have a fast car.)
During the day though...we have some pretty parks if you like the outdoors. Woodward park & Lafortune... But just so I don't get blamed for derailing this thread the subject is razors!!! And does it really irritate your face that much? I guess I can understand, but what is this shaving with the grain business? See, with your legs, against the grain works best... haha |

well it depends sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt......razor burn sucks!!!! shaving with the grain is where if you hair gross downward you shave with a downward stroke and vis versa chris

Quin...if the hairs are too long, shaving against the grain won't cut them, it will rip them out. So you shave with the grain first to get the bulk off, then against the grain to pick up whatever was missed.....

oh damn i never thought of that...that sounds like a really good way to do it. I try not to shave against the grain though because then its too short and can regrow ingrown and looks like a fat zit...definately not cool

if your using shavin cream/gel you will never get an ingrown hair or at least i haven't. I got it once with when i just used soap when i was camping a year or so back.
The way i shave is, with the grain and then back over the same spot against the grain, it tends to give you that baby soft skin for a better part of the day... and i know girls like that... |
