6th gen Civic make your lights flash w/ keyless
Ok I figured it out and instead of just writing this in the old post, I figured if I did a new one more people would see it.
Wiring Diagrams are our friends Alright first locate the factory keyless wire group thats plugged into your factory radio (group of 16 wires) Here's what they do: LT GREEN - (sedan) Not used LT GREEN / BLACK - Interior lights BLUE - to security control unit LT BLUE - to security control unit ORAGNE - to security control unit BLUE / WHITE - to security control unit WHITE / BLACK - to security control unit YELLOW / BLUE - to security control unit BLACK / YELLOW - cruise control (keyless) (Under dash fuse box/relay) BLUE / YELLOW - power door lock control unit - driver door unlock IN BLUE / RED - steering lock/ignition key switch GREEN / ORANGE - control unit and to unlock mech GREEN / WHITE - lock input to drivers lock mech LT GREEN / RED - security control unit to under dash fuse box BLACK - ground GREY - Horn Now all you have to do is: Relocate the GREY wire (for the horn) and splice it into 4 so it goes to the front parking lights and rear lights (your choice to do brake or turn signals). This could be done simply by splicing into the lights positive wires. You might try just putting a wire into the fuse box but Im not sure if this would work. Anyway, once the wire is connected to the lights be sure that its not connected to the horn otherwise it will still do that annoying "beep", instead of just the lights flashing. Now your Civic will be as cool as those more expensive Acuras that have just the flashing lights. PS)Now I havent tried this yet, its all "In Theory". But Im pretty sure that it's gonna work. |

ok, now i know why it doesnt work...
the lights are on a relay to the switch inside the car. the only way to make it work is to disconnect the lights pos wire from the switch and then run the grey horn wire from the radio to them afterward. however the lights (ie parking lights and a set in the rear) would not turn on when the switch was engauged...sort of a euro look at night I suppose...but very ghettofied... I think the only way to do it is to add in a separate relay somewhere and that would mean a lot more work that I previously had thought it would take... It would be easier to just put in a whole new set of lights just for the locks (ie a varad light bar) that is placed on the dash and again somewhere in the back...and that still would be pretty damn dumb... I think I'm giving up on this for awhile. If I think of another way, I'll post it. Ideas for helping me out on this are definately welcomed of course |
