F*ck this

on saturday my dad had an accident and it wasn't his fault. basically the other guy cut him off and flew the scene of the accident. the car has a bent fender and the bumper out of alignament with the rest of the car. after the accident i noticed that the car leaks something like tranny fluid but i'm not sure of it. THe car puls left a lot. so since the other guy flew the scene we reported it to the police and then we notified the insurance company about it. they want us to pay the 500 deductible even if it's not our fault. what the hell of bs is that ? i think i need to look for another insurance company.ohh btw the company is Nationwide ( on the "hit and run side" )

That is straight BS! Someone backed into my bumper awhile ago and their insurance paid 100%... I didn't pay a dime.

I'm running through Oregon Mutual and he was running either Allstate or State Farm.

im gonna say 99.9999% of insurace companys are gonna make you pay for a hit and run. they arnt gonna fix it for free, they will take a deductable. you need to find the POS that hit you, then you wont pay a dime.

did you get any details about what he was driving? its a major crime to leave the scene of an accident.

No matter what company your with if you make a claim your gonna have to pay the deductible. If something happens with my car i have to drop $1000 before my insurance company starts paying. It keeps my rates down and i figure if anything happens its gonna be major so fuk it!

if you have all that info why can't they just run a check on the guy....they do have access to that info....tell them to get the f**k on that computer and use it for some good. They should be able to get a warrent or something to go to the dude's house and check out the car and see if it has any damage. IF it does then you have all the proof right there that you need. Tell your pigs to get on the ball.

or dude you should be able to run to the dmv and get them to give you more of his info. F*ck the police, they arent worried about a little fender bender. If you want to save yourself $500 take the first steps and present the findings to your local police station.

Or try this, call your insurance company and tell them you were invloved in a hit and run and the other guy took off. Give them all the details and they'll hunt him down for ya. I'm sure they dont want to have to pay for the damages to your car, its in their best interests to find the bastard!

There is no way that they couldn't track him with this info unless it is fake, etc.

Goto the BMV. You can pull all that info up for a charge. Can't remember how much it is though. Once you have the info your insurance company should be able to track him down. The cops could care less.

i tried DMV and they told me that the info is available only to law enforcement agencies, not to private parties anymore. The insurance company is going to track him down as soon as i get the car in the shop but i will have to pay the deductible, then they are gonna reimburse me when they find the guy, but my dad does not want to pay the 500 (he is one weird guy).

Welp thats just how it works bud. Without someone to pin it on, you resposible for fixing your own car.

When I was in Highschool someone backed into (or something like that) my driver side door. The Sheriff came out and filed a hit and run report. Insurance company said I still had to pay the deductable since there was no one else involved. The bill came to about 400$ to get my door fixed and I had to pay a 250$ deductible. It sucks but its like.
