What a sad day
Ok...this one kinda got to me. I was browsing through the new issue of Muslce Mustangs and Fast Fords (one I'm sure you guys pick up often) and I noticed something that made me laugh/cry. A guy wrote in complaining that Tauruses/Mercury Sables had the same power potential as a Mustang. Keep in mind, his arguement was that a MODIFIED Taurus/Sable could make as much power as a STOCK V6 Mustang (not the loftiest of goals, is it? My trucks' V6 makes as much power as a stock Mustang). Now, I applaude anyone's interest in making their car more powerful...but how would you guys like it if there was a letter in a Honda/Import magazine that complained that they didn't cover enough Kias or Hyundais because they could make as much power as a stock Civic Ex when they were modified. Jesus, if you want a fast car, buy one with potential. Sorry...I just had to vent. This is absolutley pathetic.
Edit: I'd like to also note this is made even more pathetic as Ford has announced it has built it's 100,000,000th V8 motor.

Yea, I've beaten a few V6 Mustangs... that's a pretty low goal.

He wasn't talking about the SHOs...they didn't use a 3.8L V6. They used a Yamaha-tuned 3.2L or something like that. Then the later automatic models used a small 3.?L V8. Those things do have some potential, but why brag that if you threw a couple thousand bucks at your car you could be making a whopping 190hp (if you're lucky)? Just sad sad sad. And you guys are right...V6 Mustangs are a VERY low goal.
