Pride sold to UFC!!!
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/news/story?id=2814235
As of yesterday... UFC has officially eaten up Pride for a whopping 70 million USD. It shall be an interesting few months to work out the kinks and rule system changes... Also we will get to see Fedor kill the entire heavyweight line-up of the UFC. Chuck vs Wandi will be coming up soon as well

That sucks. I'd hate to see PRIDE become the pussy spectacle that the UFC is. Not that the UFC isn't tough, I'm sure...but PRIDE is just fucking vicious and has a lot fewer rules. The UFC is basically the professional wrestling of MMA. They need to revamp their rules so guys don't waste so much time on the ground and make them push the fights harder. That's the one nice thing about the WCL...there's no grappling and you get points deducted if you back away from an attack. 3 minutes of solid stand up beats 15 minutes of guys on their backs any day in my book.

terrible. pride was the only fighting i enjoyed watching, and that bairly includes pride fights done on US soil. im about done with all these fighting leages now. it seems they all want to be superstar makers and not bring quality fights to ppv entertainment.

While I agree that Pride was more fun to watch, the promoters didn't do much to bring in money to the organization. Plus they put Vandala Silva (sp) their best fighter into 2 horrible matchups. Him loosing those fights really hurt them IMO. I am really looking forward to Vandala in the UFC once again. He didn't do to well before but he has changed alot since his early days.
