got a ticket....

yeh so i was heading back to school last nite driving on route 78 in the left lane...and all of a sudden someone is flashing me like crazy so i pull to the middle lane and as they pass i beep my horn and only to my surprise its a damn cop. He pulls me over and goes " i didnt see you give me the finger did i" and i said no...so the ass rites me up a ticket for failure to keep right....is this ticket just a fine or am i gonna get points...??

is there a law that prohibits you from driving in the left lane ? ohio does not have something like that. anyone drives the way they please

Just so you know.. most people don't know about it, but the left lane is generally reserved for passing only. Some places actually post it, but 99% don't. But yea you can get a ticket for driving in the left lane if you are not passing. And it is a moving violation so you would get points.

yea in IA you must get in the Right lane and drop 10MPH below posted speed limit.

it sucks, but that would be the truth..I would fight it as it seems as though if the cop pulled you and asked if you gave him the finger then obviously he wanted to harass someone...

most people in michigan just use the left lane for going 85+mph

thats how florida highways are it seems like.

no one cares if you drive in the left lane... i had a cop follow me for 10+ miles and never pulled me over

I would fight it if i were u but it's not worth the hassle. So just plead guilty cause i don't think ur gonna win without a lawyer unless the cop doesn't show up!
