Civic vs SE-R

Is there a Civic that will outperform a SE-R?

Just stock cars, I see that SE-R, at least some I've seen, 1994-1998 run pretty well, they are 2000cc. I wonder if, for those years, was there a civic that was as powerful or more than those Nissans, eventhough civics are 1600cc.

the SE-R out did all civics till 2000. when the civic came with the K20.

but the SE-R still out does the civic in all yrs in handling.

What is the k20? c.c, is it a 2000c.c?
What are some numbers for comparison? G, 1/4mile, 0-60?
Where there any other version outside U.S.A that was more powerful on those years? I saw a double cam civic around 1996-98 (hatchback), the mechanic tuning it told me it was around 180hp could this be true?

^agreed.

K20 = a engine code. no its not 2K CC but its more powerful. in terms of hp and TQ. it runs a faster or equal to 1/4. depending on drive of course.

yes there are DOHC civics. HP is hight but the TQ is so low it doesnt matter.

you need to read alot more. go to www.cars.com and do a research on the two. hell even motortrend.com can help.

i very much agree with the two posts above me.
since there was a mechanic tuning that car. im sure it had some stuff done to it which is why it is making 180. and hell yes its possible. its possible to make 400.

uhh, yes it is 2k cc's and in the civic it technically made the same "power" as the older SI, if by power you mean horsepower

as was stated, you need to know more about what you're referring to. se-r as in the b13, b14, or b15 chassis. the b13 and b14 would have been an sr20de, the b15 would be a qr25de. the b13 will outperform any stock civic thrown at it. and it'd take an 99-00 si at the track any day. for the years that you stated 94-98 for civics, you're looking across two different chassis models. only in japan would you have found a civic that would have been able to compete with an se-r for those years stock for stock.

It's like bench racing, only online. It's when people sit around and go "hey...would this car beat this car in a race?" without actually finding out for real.
