all i want for xmas....

hi everyone
im on an $800 limit to start upgrading my system in my civic (99 sedan btw). im splittin it w/ my parents as an xmas/bday present. after goin to a local shop, the guy suggested to start w/ eclipse 6.5 3-ways in the front (se8363) and 6x9 4-ways in the back (se8493), all powered by a 4x50 amp (ea3422). i listened to the speakers in the shop n they sounded great to me. the 6.5s and 6x9 40 n 75 rms, respectively. + install and wires n some discounts, it ended up about $7??. this seem like a decent start? anything good/bad to say about eclipse?

fyi: ive got a stock hu w/ cd player, and am planning on gettin a sub in the future...like far future. should i get a hu first? should i hold off on the 6x9 until i get the subs (*im gonna have stock in the rear for a while)?

you should be fine with your stock hu untill you upgrade to a aftermarket hu. i would buy a head unit that has 3 or more preamps-> sub, rear, front, (aux, changer, ...)

eclipse makes some good speakers, not he best, but hey who can afford the best, they will sound nice in you sedan. i was at a spl competition and some guy just got his install finished, with plexiglass and the whole shabang; got spl up to 140 and blew the magnet right through his new plexiglass and out of his for like 100 ft. eclipse told him to send his sub back and they would replace it for the cost of him paying s&h
