Seinfeld Moment
Many of us go through life without watching the FDA's recommended dose of Seinfeld of 2 episodes per day. I, however, intake that exact amount as TBS is kind enough to air an hour of Seinfeld from 5-6pm central time, the perfect time for me as it is after my classes are over and before I workout (see my "Moment of Irony" thread). Those that do achieve the recommended dose of Seinfeld have a slightly different view on the world, and often experience what we, the Seinfeld-viewing community, refer to as "Seinfeld Moments"- a moment in which a person is confronted by a situation and responds in a way similar to the way a Seinfeld character would respond. I had one of those moments today. As I finished loading my lunch tray with a chicken sandwich and a ceaser salad and water, I proceeded towards the table I had preselected to be the one I would occupy for my lunch hour. A young, foreign student happened to be passing in the other direction as I was proceeding to said table. In the moment we were nearest, she dropped her entire tray, spilling it on her and two other females in the area, but sparing me the agony of spaghetti'd pants. Without hesitation, I looked at the spaghetti and the terrified young foreign student, along with the two unfortunate victims, and said "Ooo, thats a shame" with a cool confidence and personal situational-removal so befitting Jerry Seinfeld. I then walked to my table, sat down, and thoroughly enjoyed my meal while the cleanup ensued. A female friend of mine sat down next to me, yadda yadda yadda, the salad was better than the sandwich.
