FiberGlass
Anybody Ever use Fiberglass to make things like Door panels, Sub boxes, or Anything???
After a Link someone post, I've been scrounging the net for info, but mainly all the links are for people with Boats. Their was an older link by someone who paid $900 in materials and built an intire Car frame out of it. It was Older and kinda cheesy though. But the basic gist I'm getting, Is either you can tape off an area and fiberglass it to get a mold of that, or you can use Foam to sculpt a shape you want and fiberglass that get what you want. After seeing the guy build the car i was seriously thinking about making my own wing, It seems kinda easy and if I screw up I can but the stock one back on But first I wanted to tackle a smaller project, I wanna make a switch box, for the little cubby hole under the parking brake lever, just a hollow box I can put switches in for Neon tubes, strobes, Ya know Nitrous, maybe some hydro's .. Well maybe just Neons' for now. Does anyone know where I can buy this stuff !!! Or if anyone has done any fiberglass work ... Post up a hint or two and pics if you can !! THanks Patrick 4jacks 4jacks@mail.com |

Don't buy chemicals over the net. Go to home depot or a boat store for the fiberglass resin. Use styrofoam to make your mold and work from there. I used cardboard, styrofoam to make my fiberglass sub box. Still working on finishing it.
