Static when I turn on my system...

Hey guys, since I'm not an audio expert, I thought I'd ask you. Just recently, though I've had my Eclipse deck for about 6 months now, my system will play about 3-4 seconds of static when I turn it on (listening to a CD), similar to bad reception. Everything was working fine before and I haven't changed anything.

Any suggestions as to where to start looking? Also, this is a random occurence as far as I can see (it doesn't happen every time)

try this..

take out the radio, secure all the connections, makes sure that they are well taped or whatever..

Especiallly the ground. But static crap, could get it thru the speaker wires as well.

then see if it still does it.



If you're sure of you're connections.


Test each speaker, using fader/bal...

If you find one that shows a problem, then you've got it. that wire is probably exposed or smoething.



If still not, then it maybe a problem with the HU, but I strongly doubt that.

Thanks Accord Man, I'll try that. I have a feeling its a ground, but I wanted to ask someone who knew. The only problem trying to fade and test them is that it doesn't do it everytime I start. Oh well, I'll take it apart and see what I can find.
