Well, I'm leaving for Iraq on Monday
Hey guys. I haven't been on the board in a while because our unit is deploying. Pretty crazy stuff....Anyway, I just thought I'd let you all know, and say goodbye and all that. I can't say everthing about our mission and all that (we've been getting TONS of "Classified," "Secret," and "Be careful around the media," briefings), but here's what I can tell you.
1) We're going to be doing Urban Assault, Convoy, and Desert Combat training for about 2 months stateside before we ship out. 2) Once we land in Kuwait (staging area for US troops) we'll train for about another month or so...something like that, and then head out to our Area of Operation. 3) I got selected to be a .50 cal gunner for one of our gun trucks. (An up-armored escort Hum-Vee) 4) We'll be gone something like a year and half So, I just wanted to say goodbye to you guys. Thanks for letting me post opinions and not blasting me (all the time). I hope everything works out for you guys. I'll probably be able to check HSTuners while we're deployed about once a month or so. - Steven Dzur United States Army - "This We'll Defend" |

Good luck man...I'm with Pdiggs...I don't see the point in sending more people there, but if you're in the military I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Oh...and if you run into a PFC Nagle over there, hit him in the arm for me and then laugh your ass off.
On a side note, they don't make you wear those hats on duty, do they? I don't mean any disrespect, but it kinda looks like you've got a limp penis on your head. Hehe.

you have my best wishes dzur! come home safely
and if you ask me, this whole iraq ordeal is turning is like the diet coke version of vietnam. i mean thankfully there isn't blooshed like that but the purpose seems just as pointless. I mean it's nice we took out sadam and freed the iraqui's and all, but we need to stop babysitting them. When will our country stop policeing the world....
