Acts of attrition

I've noticed this a lot around here lately. For those who don't know what attrition is, it's apologizing for something you aren't truely sorry for. A lot of newbies have come on here, talked a lot of shit, and then apologized when nearly everyone put them in their place (resulting in more locked threads than I've seen in a long time here). It's really kind of sick, actually...someone runs their mouth off, everyone dogs on them, and then they apologize and everything's ok. I like the idea of one big happy family here, but perhaps the wrong people have been registering as of late. I believe in second chances, but only when they're worth it. I don't think someone running their mouth with less than 10 posts or so should be allowed to stay on the board. I know, I'm not a moderator and it's not for me to decide...but I'm really tired of people making apologies only after about 10-20 people come down on the for being an assclown. If you fucked up, you should realize it rather quickly...not wait for a ton of people to call you a dumbass and then say you're sorry for the sake of not looking like an ass. Maybe it's me, but I'm getting tired of this kind of behavior and I think maybe (hopefully) the moderators are too.

Its not just you. There has been a surge of this as of late, and we've all noticed it. I also think that something needs to be done with it, maybe re-implement the suspension system instead of a ban?
