Why is ebay changing things?
For a successful site, i would say don't fix it if it ain't broke!
I haven't used ebay or half.com for a couple months, but man have they been busy. As near as i can figure out, they are trying to merge half.com into ebay. I don't know about the rest of you, but I liked using just half.com and not ebay. I don't like the bidding process, getting sniped at the end pisses me off. I liked being able to list an item along with everyone elses item, and not having to make a huge "storefront" whenever you want to sell something. I used to call it the civilized corner of ebay. and just today i went to go buy something and i used the buy it now thing because the price was real good. They are not kidding around with that thing. there is no verification; if you click that button you have pretty much bought it, now you just need to pay for it, which is where i have another beef with them. they basically forced me to sign up for paypal. i don't wanna. not because i have a problem with paypal, its because i didn't ask for it. I like having payment options. I don't liked being forced to do anything. it wouldn't let me check out, even after i filled out the form, it said my request could not be completed, please go to paypal.com. I also found it interesting that this auction said that all major cards are accepted, and that the seller PREFERS paypal. Well apparently ebay requires it, regardless of what the seller says. eGay better get there crap together, because this blows. anyone else have any problems with them? I sent an email to the seller telling him cancel my order becuase ebay is making things difficult. |

Never had a problem with them. PayPal is optional, nobody makes you sign up. Maybe just a mistake?

I know what you mean about the "buy it now" thing. The first time I used it I just went "huh...what the fuck?". But I already had a Paypal account. And you're right...they basically act like if you don't use Paypal you can't pay period which, in their eyes, might as well be a felony. I like half.com better as well...no bidding...just see what you want (usually at a better price than you'd get bidding anyway) and buy it. No waiting until some stupid auction ends in 3 day 5 hours and 27 minutes.

well that is because the seller is asking for immediate payement. the seller can undo that option and let you check out the way you want. plus i like sending money via paypal or receiving them via paypal.

well i worked it out with the seller, and i'm sending him an M.O. it could have been a mistake on my part, but i think ebay needs to make their payment options more obvious.
