Springs or coilovers with stock struts?

Is there any difference between the two in regard to how quickly they destroy or render the stock struts ineffective? Is one less harsh than the other or will they both kill the stocks equally as fast?

The thing that usually destroy shocks/struts the fastest is lowering the car to low. This causes the shocks to bottom out, and eventually "blow".

Both springs and coilovers will work. But depending on how low you go will depend on how long the shock will last. Coilovers you can adjust, springs you cant.

I got that. I'm just not sure how low I want to go. It would be nice to buy some quality coilovers but I don't know if I want to spend that much...I know, "It's my suspension!" But I think I can get a quality set of springs for less money if I can just nail down the ride height I want.

I found a good deal on some Neuspeed race springs...2.0" drop on 16s should be good.

My question now is, will a 2" drop bottom out?

Keep in mind I'm not looking for a "slammed" look. Just a nice elimination of the fender gap with no rubbing or bottoming out.

Yes, 2 inch drop will most likely kill your shocks.

Atleast with the coilovers you can keep it sitting a little higher with your stock struts then lower it when you get a good set.

If you going to go springs, especially that low. Just save the money and get them all at the same time. That way you will only have to do it once, and you wont have to worry about blowing anything. Youll just have to wait.

Blown shocks suck. You want to talk about a crappy ride. Its bad.

yea I got your PM Hondaman...only thing is I don't think the Eibachs will lower it enough to eliminate my wheel gap. It's pretty nasty. And I can't afford Konis right now so I have to find a middle ground. I want springs but not ones that will kill my struts in two months.

Here's what I'm talkin' about...just got the rims on yesterday...

Bwahaha.. oh.. man.. Shoulda put mudders on it!! bwahaha..

Im just messing with you.

Trust me.. just save your money. If you lower it, and they blow then your stuck with a shitty ride until you get the money. Id just wait, youll be glad you did.
