Exclamation Something new to play with... ;)

I've finally given up on my Sony Xplod cd deck. It just skips too much. I'm going to buy 20civic01's Pioneer deck.
It's a DEH-P5200
and heres a pic.

looks good and reviews say its very good about not skipping.
my only draw back is my limited experience trying to adjust the eq failed miserably. once i get it installed and read the book (wow... actually read instructions ) maybe it will come to me.

page for stats: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pi...29,518,00.html

whadaya think guys?

Nice deck Chris. That should be a good unit, my friend runs a similar one.

I had a problem with skipping until I recently bought the NEWEST Sony head unit (CDX-MP70). It has G- Protection which is Sony's anti skip protec. It rules, no skipping..what so ever. Now all I need is for Sony to get with the program and release thier XM reciever. Everyone else has one out (Pioneer, etc) except for Sony. I hear another month or so until release....I want it now!

yeah i agree that those pioneers can take a while to figure out. i had a deh 9300. it is one of the tops they make. but it was too flash for me. i actually thought the 9300 was easier to set than some of the lower ones though. they do have all kinds of mad controllability. no need for an external processor with some of em. but IMO too flashy.

i was just looking at the link you posted that tells all about the radio. click on your link and go to the service and support button it is close to the top leftand it is a blue button. you have to make a login name for yourself, but then you can download the manual for that specific radio and i am sure that will help.

What don't you like about JVC? I've had my jvc head (kds840 or something?) for almost 4 years and it's been pretty reliable, and good sound for the $$.

i don't know but the bass is soo muffled. it sounds like it comes from a drain pipe. I have it paired with the stock accord front speakers and blaupunkts on the rear. i tried the Piuoneer DEH-225 i believe in my car and the sound is totally different.

once apon a time i too was a victom of jvc. i had the 550 or somethin like that. the volume numbers went all the way up to like 60. the only problem was even with the bass and treble turned all the way down, you could not even recognize you music past 25. in addition, i went through 3 in 2 1/2 months before i started yellin at the circuit city manager and they gave me an alpine for the same price as the jvc. i was happy. $279 alpine for the price of the $179 jvc.
