Question about installing shocks
Hey Guys
whats the best way to get the nut off that holds the shock and spring assembly together. getting ready to install my tokico illuminas this weekend and remembered that to get them off the first time (when i installed the coilovers) i had to use an air wrench on the top nut to pop the spring and shock assembly apart, but dont have access to an air wrench anymore... please tell me their is a way to get it off without an air wrench, cause i dont want to pay the 350 to 400 dollars the shops charge around here to do it when i know i can do it my self thanks chris |

you don't need an air wrench to do it. all you need is a 14mm wrench, and they are torques at only 22ft-lbs so that will work with just a regular wrench.

Can i losen the nut while its still in the shock tower? since the coilover spring is so small and i dont have to compress it, will this hurt anything?

the center nut? I had some trouble with this one
I stuck an allen wrench in there and then tryied to do it...but I stripped out the allen hole...so I then used some vice grips and closed it on the shaft...worked like a charm |
