i copied this from ebay
Second Chance Offer
eBay Second Chance Offer enables sellers to offer to a specific under bidder the right to purchase a closed auction item. This feature can be used by the seller when: The transaction could not be completed with the high bidder. Note: Before making a Second Chance Offer, the seller should do everything to work things out with the high bidder before an offer is made to an under bidder (in the cases of a potential Non-Paying Bidder situation where you only have one item). See the Non-Paying Bidder program for details. The seller has duplicate items to offer to an under-bidder at their last bid price. Best of all, a Second Chance Offer has no Insertion Fees now that I read it, it seems that the seller WANTED to sell to this other person. What I dont get is the auction even showed that they were the winner and not me. Im gonna email ebay customer service and see what the hells goin on with the auction that I won. |

Seems like he took the easy way out so he doesn't have to pay fees and stuff. I'd email Ebay CS also.

well I got my response from ebay cs today (suprised me that they work on sundays). they said that there was some kind of computer glitch that emailed me the winning bidder notification before the auction ended. (my fault not to go to the actual auction and see for myself but hey I trusted it.) So because they f*cked up big time theyre waiving all kinds of fees and refunding some recent ones too. thats "the best they can do" the guy told me. I dont really mind I shouldnt have bid on them anyway I couldnt comforably afford them anyway
Oh well I got some cash back (er...credit) but lost the setup... just another time I get screwed by eGay...when will I learn? |

Hmm, that's weird. I don't trust the email notification thing though, I always watch the auction if its important.
At least they gave you some money back.

I don't get it... who did you pay money too, if you found out you got second bid, the same day that you won the auction?? And if you did pay money for a product you aren't going to receive, why did you accept a partical refund/credit ?? what the heck is credit ?

no i didnt pay. I got an email from eGay saying I won. Luckily later on I went to see the auction and found someone else had won. I assumed that it was this second chance thing. I was mistaken and eGay had a computer glitch that sent me email as being the winner (I guess it thought the auction was over and saw me as the high bidder). So when I Q'd eGay CS they looked into it and found the problem and to make up for it they decided to credit me the funds that I owed for selling and whatever. So basically I got very little cash back for what I had lost. Oh well. Dont think that I really know whats going on either Im just as confused as the rest of you but hell whatever its eGay. They credited me and thats better than nothing at all. Guess its like that woman that was credited billions of $ and when it was all over they took the $ back and she got flowers. Once again I stick to my original statement of eGay is shitty, not only with some of the rotten sellers, but now their glichy computer system.
