i'm new,messed up my stock head unit

me and my friends wanted to install an amp in my car a 2002 honda civic LX 2dr and we got the power wire threw and then we went to attach the remote turn on lead to a power wire in the back of my stock head unit. then the head unit didn't turn on we re attached the wires that we have cut but the head unit doesn't come back on.... could anybody tell me what might be the problem thank you
